The Orpheum Theatre in Madison, Wisconsin is a beautiful venue for shows. The Orpheum was packed on a Saturday night for the cold Wisconsin welcome for The Last Hero Tour. Two incredible national acts All That Remains and Alter Bridge, with local support of Man The Mighty came in with a bang. It may have been freezing outside here in winter Wisconsin, but it was snug and sweaty inside the theatre!
Everyone loves a good metal show on a Saturday night. Opening this night of great music, from Chicago, Illinois was four piece band Man The Mighty. Man The Mighty had the pleasure of opening up for Alter Bridge and they definitely didn’t disappoint. They got the crowd loud, rowdy and ready for the rest of this show.
Next to take the stage, the infamous 5 piece band from Springfield, Massachusetts, All That Remains. All That Remains played many fan favorite songs including the title track off their new 2017 album “Madness”, “Two Weeks”, “This Calling” and many more. All That Remains is known for mixing things up a bit, and they do just that. The last song anyone expected All That Remains to cover would be a Garth Brooks song. But they did just that with a killer cover of “The Thunder Rolls”. They also take it down a notch with their song “What If I Was Nothing”, a crowd favorite to sing along to. All That Remains always brings the energy to the stage, guitarist Oli Herbert is especially notorious for his crowd interaction, and all his movement on the stage. If you like a band that isn’t afraid to broaden their horizons, and master it every time, All That Remains is a must see band for you!
Next, the headliner of this heavy metal Saturday night, from Orlando, Florida is four piece band Alter Bridge. Alter Bridge is composed of some legendary and talented musicians. Guitarist and also Vocalist, Myles Kennedy has worked with some very well respected musicians in the music industry. Myles blew the crowd away with his ability to bust out all those songs while shredding on the guitar. Guitarist Mark Tremonti, has incredible shredding abilities with an amazing voice to go along with them. Tremonti, a founding member of rock band Creed, and also heavy metal band Tremonti. Drummer Scott Philips and bassist Brian Marshall also of Creed, complete the incredible lineup of Alter Bridge. Many fans sang along with vocalist Myles to songs like “Broken Wings”, “Addicted To Pain”, “Watch Over You”, and many more with an encore of “Show Me A Leader” and “Rise Today”. Alter Bridge along with All That Remains are two bands that have an immense talent in shaking things up a big to please everyone in their crowd.
